Most of the expensive tree problems we fix started thirty years ago at planting: wrong species, wrong spot, planted six inches too deep with the root flare buried. The removal bill in 2026 was written in 1996. Planting is where you get to not make that mistake.
We help you choose species that earn their place on a Tacoma lot. Western red cedar and Douglas fir where there's genuinely room for them, and there's less room than people think. Vine maple, serviceberry, Japanese snowbell and paperbark maple for normal city yards. Garry oak if you want to plant something your grandkids will argue about. And we will gently talk you out of the fast growers that become fast problems: Leyland cypress hedges nobody maintains, poplars anywhere near a sewer lateral, birches on hot south walls.
Planting is done properly or not at all: flare at grade, hole wide not deep, native soil backfill, mulch ring kept off the trunk, stakes only if the site demands them and removed after a year. We plant fall through early spring while the rain does the watering for you.
Replacing something we removed? Ask about replant pricing at the time of the removal, we keep it cheap because a yard that gets a new tree is a yard we did right by.
